Keep Jackson Beautiful is looking to beautify the MLK Corridor. We are in need of designs for murals that will be transferred to vinyl along walls of businesses and vacant buildings. Art should be centered around local, National, and International Civil rights Activists and African American History of Jackson and Mississippi. We would also like to honor Judge LaRita Cooper-Stokes and any local activist that have recently passed. So do your research! 5-7 Artists will receive $250 for their design if chosen by the community. Please submit your best art!
After all submissions have been received Keep Jackson Beautiful and Councilman Stokes will invite Ward 3 community members to attend a community meeting. At this meeting, the community will vote on the art they want to see reflected on the murals in their neighborhood and to sign up as volunteers for cleanup efforts before art is installed.
