As citizens of this city, we should have a desire to magnify its beauty by keeping our neighborhoods, schools, highways, and parks in excellent condition. Keeping Jackson clean and green is essential to improving the quality of life, economic growth and prosperity of the entire city. Here are a few points to remember:
For every 2,000 pounds of recycled paper, we conserve 7,000 gallons of chemical-free water.
Nearly 84% of household waste can be recycled.Plastic and aluminum takes approximately 500 years to decompose in a landfill.
Dumping tires illegally can clog drainage ditches and creeks.
We want to pass on a more sustainable environment for our children and grandchildren if we utilize opportunities to make a difference in our City. All Jackson residents have a right to participate in the decisions which affect their lives and the city in which they live. To see a difference, we must be the difference. Collectively, we have the power to Keep Jackson Beautiful.
Keep Jackson Beautiful would like to assist any schools, neighborhood associations, block clubs, and volunteer organizations, local churches, businesses, sororities and fraternities, and other civic organizations with cleanup and beautification projects within Jackson city limits.
