Keep Jackson Beautiful is thrilled to announce our 1st Annual High School Challenge, scheduled for October 11th . This event aligns with , reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship. We're calling on the vibrant residents,  of Jackson, MS, and neighboring communities to team up and make a significant impact on the cleanliness and beauty of our surroundings.

Last year's challenge was a monumental success, with 23 teams and nearly 600 participants. Together, we collected 354 bags of trash and 207 larger items, dramatically improving the aesthetics and health of various areas across Soddy-Daisy. Our heartfelt thanks go to our partners and everyone who made such an accomplishment possible.

This year, we aim to surpass our previous achievements and foster even stronger community spirit and pride. Here's how you can get involved:

How to Participate:

•  Join a Team: Register your team online now to start planning your cleanup. Visit our website to sign up: keepsoddydaisybeautiful.org/community-cleanup-challenge-2024/

• Safety First: Review our safety guidelines before heading out. Your well-being is our top priority.

• Collect Supplies: Starting April 17th, pick up your trash bags, safety vests, and other supplies from designated locations.

• Make a Difference: Clean up your chosen area between April 19th and April 25th. Feel free to organize multiple cleanups throughout the week.

• Document Your Efforts: Submit details of your cleanups, including photos and the location of your efforts. This is crucial for contest eligibility and helps us with disposal logistics.

• Celebrate Your Impact: Join us at the Soddy Lake park pavilion on April 26th for a celebration of our collective efforts, with refreshments, prizes, and a trophy for the winning team.

Awards:

• Most Trash Collected: The team with the highest overall haul.

• Most Trash Collected (Per Team Member): Recognizing efficiency and effort.

• Most Bizarre Trash Item: Found something odd? Let's see it!

• Largest Trash Item: For those who go big in their cleanup endeavors.
